UBUNTU WEECARE
EST. 2025
A Place Where Every Child Belongs
Developed to meet the pressing care needs of medically complex children in underserved and remote areas, those without access to appropriate services, and those who lose eligibility for care too early.
Community First
Developed in partnership with Ubuntu Village of Life and WeeCare Pediatric Home Health Care, grounded in shared responsibility, trust, and care.
Inclusive by Design
Created to ensure children with diverse needs are supported through physiotherapy, rehabilitation, education, respite, nursing care, and day or residential programs.
A Model for Africa
Designed to grow beyond Burundi, offering a sustainable and adaptable approach to care across the continent.
Setting a New Standard for Pediatric Care in Africa
What sets this initiative apart is it is a fully integrated, multidisciplinary special needs centre with a holistic approach. In contrast to the fragmented services that currently exist in Burundi and across much of Africa, Ubuntu WeeCare is designed to bring care, training, and education together in one centralized setting. “There’s nothing comparable on the continent, it’s not just a centre, it’s a blueprint.”
Care Without Borders
Over the next five years, the goal is to see Ubuntu WeeCare grow into a thriving model that can be adapted in communities across Africa and beyond. Rooted in Ubuntu values and WeeCare values, this work reflects a shared commitment to community, compassion, and working together to heal and empower.
